CIBYRA PAGE III

THE MONUMENTAL FOUNTAIN

The 2,000-year-old monumental fountain found during excavations in the ancient city of Kibyra in Burdur has been restored (2023). The monumental fountain structure, which had only circular lower parts, was previously thought to be the foundation of a temple building. The restoration of the round-planned fountain structure was completed using a total of 168 original parts, excluding part of its conical roof. It is aimed that the building can be used in accordance with its original form in May 2023.
