RAINBOW MOUNTAINS
MULTICOLORED GEOLOGICAL FORMATOIONS AROUND THE WORLD
On some locations and countries of the World there are some geological formations and mountains that create a visual effect like rainbows.
These formations and mountains are vibrant, colorful rock and sand formations created from a combination of tectonic plate movement, layered sediment and erosion. Basically, layered sandstone and minerals built up over millions of years and when tectonic plates moved, the colors began to appear. Combine that with water erosion, freezing and thawing and wind and voilà, epic rainbow-colored mountains appear. The Rainbow Mountains are generally cretaceous sandstones. The sand and silt was deposited with iron and trace minerals that provided it with the key ingredient to form the colors we see today.

Kerid volcanic crater lake is located in the grimnes area in south Iceland. It is one of several crater lakes in the area, known as Iceland's Western Volcanic Zone.

The Aladaglar is the Azari Turkish name of the rainbow-like mountains and hills in the East-Azerbaijan province. They are tucked into the northwest of Iran, 25 kilometers in the north east of Tabriz between Ahar and Khajeh. Along the road of Ahar-Tabriz, the landscape begins to switch step by step. Passing the city of Tabriz, an eye-catching mountain chain of the Aladaglar appears and is painted with hues of copper, red, yellow, green and orange. This masterpiece of mother nature.
